About:
Dr. Melissa Teeples is originally from Tallassee, Alabama. She attended Auburn University for her undergraduate and DVM degrees, graduating in 1986 and 1989, respectively. Dr. Teeples was initially motivated to a career in the veterinary field by her love for animals and a thirst for knowledge. Prior to becoming a veterinarian, she worked in veterinary hospitals as a receptionist, kennel worker, and veterinary technician—so she knows the veterinary field from all angles! Dr. Teeples relishes making a difference in her patient’s well-being, and her areas of interest include general medicine, internal medicine, and nutrition. She is a current member of the American Veterinary Medical Association.
Dr. Melissa Teeples has been with her husband, John, since 1985, and they have two grown children who reside in Denver, Colorado. Her fur family consists of Cinderella, the perfect Chihuahua; Simone, a Jack Russell with endless energy; Brenda, an athletic mixed breed; and Kevin, a Border Collie mix who goes to work every day at John’s contracting business. The three bigger dogs run daily with their dad, but Cinderella enjoys more of a leisurely lifestyle. In her free time, Dr. Teeples enjoys hiking and traveling.
